Sudáfrica está probando un tren muy largo. El tren mide 7,6 kilómetros de largo. Tiene 696 vagones vacíos. Recorre 860 kilómetros desde la costa hasta una mina. Unos motores eléctricos y diésel ayudan a que este enorme tren se desplace por todo el país.

La empresa afirma que ahora es el tren más largo del mundo. Es más largo que un famoso tren australiano de hace muchos años, que medía 7,2 kilómetros.

La gente cree que esta gran prueba supone un gran paso adelante para los trenes y la economía de su país. Ayudará a transportar cargas pesadas a largas distancias de forma mucho más rápida y eficaz en el futuro.
