Una mujer llamada Christa Pike está en el hospital. En 1996 la meten en la cárcel por un asesinato. La condenan a muerte.

Las autoridades utilizan dos inyecciones para acabar con su vida. Pero, tras eso, sigue respirando y está viva. Sus abogados detienen el proceso. Los médicos la llevan al hospital. El gobernador de Tennessee suspende otras ejecuciones por ahora. Nadie sabe qué ha salido mal.

Los líderes de las Naciones Unidas dicen que este fallo ha sido muy cruel y terrible. Mucha gente en Estados Unidos se está planteando ahora grandes preguntas sobre las normas relativas a la pena de muerte y la seguridad.
