Indonesia tiene demasiados residuos – nivel 1

Indonesia tiene un gran problema con la basura. Muchos vertederos ya están llenos. Cerca de la ciudad de Yakarta, hay una montaña de basura tan alta como un edificio grande. Este sitio no es nada seguro.

En marzo, la caída de basura mató a siete trabajadores. Ahora, el gobierno quiere acabar con los vertidos a cielo abierto. Tienen pensado hacer que los vertederos sean más seguros y clasificar mejor la basura. Mucha gente sin recursos trabaja cada día en el vertedero. Venden cosas viejas que encuentran entre la basura para ganar dinero. A estos trabajadores les da miedo quedarse sin trabajo.

El gobierno dice que les creará puestos de trabajo nuevos y seguros en el futuro.
