Un guía de montaña de 52 años llamado Dawa Sherpa estuvo desaparecido en el Everest durante una semana. Se encontraba en las alturas de la montaña más alta del mundo, donde hace mucho frío y no hay aire suficiente para respirar.
Su familia pensaba que había muerto, así que su mujer y su hija pequeña empezaron a preparar un funeral tradicional en casa. Pero entonces ocurrió un milagro. Un equipo de rescate vio a Dawa arrastrándose por la nieve cerca del campamento base. No podía caminar y tenía las manos dañadas por el frío extremo, pero estaba vivo. El equipo le dio comida y agua, y un helicóptero lo llevó a un hospital. Su hija dijo que estaban muy felices, pero sorprendidos cuando vieron las fotos de su padre en las noticias locales.
La gente dice que sobrevivió porque los guías de montaña de Nepal son muy fuertes y saben cómo sobrevivir en condiciones climáticas adversas.
