En Washington D.C. están soltando 600 000 mosquitos machos por la ciudad. Suena raro, pero funciona muy bien.

Estos mosquitos machos no pican a la gente. Llevan una bacteria especial en su interior. Cuando estos machos se cruzan con las hembras, estas no pueden tener crías. Los huevos nuevos no se eclosionan. La bacteria lo impide. El calor atrae a más mosquitos y enfermedades a las ciudades. Los científicos dicen que este nuevo método es muy seguro para las personas, las aves y los peces.

En unas semanas, habrá muchos menos mosquitos en la zona. Podrás estar al aire libre y pasarlo bien sin mosquitos.
