Un recuerdo «flashbulb» es una imagen muy nítida que tienes en la mente de un acontecimiento importante, como los atentados del 11 de septiembre en Nueva York. La gente recuerda ese momento. Sabe dónde estaba y cómo se sentía en ese instante. Está muy segura de su recuerdo.

Pero los científicos dicen que nuestro cerebro comete muchos errores con el paso del tiempo. Añadimos nueva información de las noticias o de nuestros amigos, así que la historia va cambiando. Las emociones fuertes hacen que los recuerdos parezcan muy nítidos. Incluso líderes importantes, como el presidente Bush, olvidan pequeños detalles de ese día.

Cuando compartimos recuerdos, nos sentimos más cercanos unos a otros. Hoy en día, las noticias cambian muy rápido. Puede que en el futuro la gente comparta menos de estos grandes recuerdos entre sí.
