El impuesto turístico de Inglaterra – nivel 1

Inglaterra va a permitir que las autoridades locales apliquen un pequeño impuesto a las pernoctaciones en hoteles. Quienes se alojen en hoteles, pensiones o casas de vacaciones pagarán un poco más, normalmente menos del 5 % del precio de la habitación.

Algunas ciudades, como Mánchester, ya aplican un impuesto de 1 libra (1,14 euros) por habitación. El nuevo plan entrará en vigor antes de 2029. A muchos propietarios de hoteles no les gusta este nuevo impuesto. Les preocupa que los visitantes se vayan a otros sitios para ahorrarse dinero.

Los estudios indican que una tasa de 10 libras (11,40 euros) podría hacer que la gente visitara menos la ciudad. Pero cada autoridad local puede decidir si aplica el impuesto o lo rechaza.
