Gamescom, la mayor feria presencial de videojuegos del mundo, se inauguró con el «Opening Night Live» y trajo consigo anuncios importantes, como un remake de «The Witcher 3».

Se esperan más de 350 000 visitantes en este enorme evento, que llena diez pabellones con las principales editoras y desarrolladores independientes.

La directora ejecutiva, Asha Sharma, celebró el 25.º aniversario de Xbox y destacó que el sector debe innovar en eficiencia y en la asequibilidad del hardware. Las franquicias clásicas también acaparan titulares; Tomb Raider se está reinventando como Legacy of Atlantis con una jugabilidad modernizada, al tiempo que rinde homenaje a la emblemática seguridad en sí misma de Lara Croft.

Los estudios independientes más pequeños están dando un paso al frente para hacerse cargo de grandes propiedades intelectuales. El equipo escocés Screenburn está desarrollando *Silent Hill Townfall*. Los avances tecnológicos también ocupan un lugar destacado: Nvidia presenta DLSS 5, una herramienta gráfica de IA generativa que genera imágenes hiperrealistas en tiempo real. La Gamescom pone de relieve cómo la industria se está adaptando a los nuevos retos, equilibrando remakes emblemáticos con tecnología revolucionaria para dar forma al futuro de los videojuegos.
