Hoy en día, las casas en Australia son muy caras. Los jóvenes no pueden comprarse una vivienda propia. Por eso, muchas familias viven juntas en una casa grande.

Abuelos, padres e hijos adultos comparten espacio para ahorrar dinero. Algunas personas mayores construyen casitas en los jardines de sus hijos. Vivir juntos beneficia a todos: los abuelos echan una mano con los niños y los jóvenes tienen un sitio barato donde vivir.

El número de familias que viven juntas crece rápidamente cada año. Entre 2016 y 2021, ha aumentado un 22 %.
