Nueva ley de la UE sobre la deforestación – nivel 1

La UE tiene una nueva norma para proteger los bosques. La norma entrará en vigor el 30 de diciembre de 2026. Las empresas que vendan productos como café, aceite de palma y chocolate tendrán que demostrar que no talan árboles.

Pero algunas grandes empresas siguen comprando aceite de palma de ciertas zonas de Indonesia. Allí se talan bosques de forma ilegal.

Algunos países quieren que Europa suspenda o modifique la norma. Entre ellos están, por ejemplo, EE. UU. e Indonesia. Pero la UE debe cumplir las normas al pie de la letra. Indonesia está perdiendo muchos árboles a causa de los grandes incendios y la agricultura. La gente espera que esta nueva norma impida que las empresas dañen los árboles y ayude a mantener la Tierra verde y segura.
