El Banco Central Europeo ha presentado los diez diseños finalistas para los nuevos billetes de euro. Se recibieron más de 1.200 propuestas, pero los responsables han elegido dos ideas destacadas para reflejar la cultura y la naturaleza europeas.
La primera propuesta incluye a figuras históricas famosas del arte, la ciencia y la música, como Leonardo da Vinci, María Callas, Marie Curie y Beethoven. La segunda propuesta muestra aves silvestres y ríos preciosos, y pone de relieve la necesidad de proteger la naturaleza y los animales en toda Europa.
Los que vivís en la UE podéis votar por vuestra idea favorita en una encuesta online en la web del banco. Tras la votación, el banco central empezará a imprimir los nuevos billetes. Se espera que la gente empiece a usar estos nuevos billetes de euro a partir de finales de 2026.
