Mucha gente en Japón se siente muy sola. En Japón hay muchas personas mayores. Es la población con mayor edad media del mundo. Muchas personas mayores viven solas porque sus hijos viven lejos.

El año pasado, miles de personas murieron solas en sus casas. Ahora, hay personas muy amables que visitan a los mayores cada mañana para llevarles comida y charlar con ellos. Pero los jóvenes también se sienten solos porque trabajan demasiado.

Desde 2021, Japón cuenta con un ministro especial para ayudar a las personas que se sienten solas. Ahora, la gente puede usar aplicaciones de teléfono. Pagan por hablar con alguien porque quieren tener un amigo.
