Un tribunal francés ha dictaminado que la líder política Marine Le Pen es culpable de malversación de fondos públicos, pero el tribunal ha modificado su condena.

Su antigua inhabilitación política de cinco años ya ha terminado, así que puede presentarse legalmente a las próximas elecciones presidenciales de abril de 2027.

Pero sigue habiendo un gran problema. El juez ha dicho que Le Pen tiene que quedarse en casa durante un año y llevar una tobillera electrónica. Le Pen ya había dicho antes que no se presentaría a la presidencia si tenía que llevar esa tobillera, porque no podría viajar ni hablar con la gente con normalidad.

Ahora, el partido político de Le Pen debe celebrar una reunión extraordinaria. Si decide retirarse, su joven compañero Jordan Bardella probablemente se convertirá en el nuevo candidato para las elecciones.
